THE WOMAN BEHIND ‘ALMOYRA’
MOIRA CARMENATE
Entrepreneur • Behavioural Change Specialist • Transformational Guide
Moira Carmenate is a woman forged in fire — a leader, mentor, and behavioural change specialist with nearly forty years of success in business, leadership development, and human transformation.
Her work is rooted in deep experience, emotional intelligence, and a lifetime of rising again and again, no matter what tried to break her.
But Moira’s story does not begin in boardrooms or businesses. It begins in adversity.
A Childhood of Shadows — And the First Sparks of Strength
From just fifteen months old, Moira was raised by her grandparents after her mother attempted to sell her to a stranger.
Her father, once a rising rock-and-roll singer, abandoned the industry rather than be consumed by its pressures. Reinventing himself, he became an escapologist — mastering the ability to break free.
He later returned briefly to teach her a lesson she would remember forever: how to escape from a straight-jacket.
A symbolic teaching that would become a metaphor for emotional, mental, and spiritual liberation.
Her work is rooted in deep experience, emotional intelligence, and a lifetime of rising again and again, no matter what tried to break her.
But Moira’s story does not begin in boardrooms or businesses. It begins in adversity.
Escaping Into Her Own Life
At seventeen, Moira found herself homeless. By her twenties, she had built her first business while raising two young children — all while surviving a marriage marked by fear and control.
With nothing more than train fare and her children, she made her escape — the moment that defined her lifelong belief:
You can always choose a different life.
From there, she rebuilt herself piece by piece, stepping into new industries and identities with courage.
The Accident That Should Have Stopped Her — But Didn’t
After rising quickly in the financial services sector, Moira suffered a devastating car crash that left her unable to walk or speak. Her company collapsed while she remained in hospital.
Most people would have surrendered. Moira did not.
She returned to work while relearning how to speak and care for her children, refusing to let her story end there.
Her resilience carried her into achievements few reach:
- Trainer in behavioural psychology
• Leader of a 1,200-strong sales organisation
• The only woman in the boardroom
• Founder of multiple successful businesses
A Life of Extraordinary Moments — And Deep Humanity
Moira’s life journey led her into exceptional spaces — including a private lunch at Buckingham Palace, where she was one of only ten invited guests.
Seated beside Prince Edward, she excused herself to find the ladies’ room, only to discover Buckingham Palace had no such facility. Redirected into a private bedroom, she became unwell — and later joked:
“At least I didn’t throw up over Prince Edward.”
In true Moira spirit, the moment did not diminish her presence. She was later invited back — this time to St James’s Palace — where she sat at the same table as the late Duke of Edinburgh.
It is a story not of royalty, but of authenticity, humour, and unshakeable groundedness.
A Life Dedicated to Transformation
Today, Moira is known for helping people:
- overcome fear
• release emotional patterns
• rebuild confidence and worth
• find clarity in times of fog
• step into the life they truly want
She speaks with honesty, courage, and lived experience — often described as the most real and relatable speaker people have encountered.
Her retreats and coaching are not conceptual. They are lived. They are earned. They are rooted in a lifetime of breaking free from circumstances and expectations.
Almoyra is the culmination of Moira’s journey: a transformational space for those ready to release the past, reclaim their truth, and step boldly into their next chapter.
Her life proves one truth:
No matter where you begin — you can always choose a different ending.
